Other types of fish you can target are the red Fish, blue Fish, the black fish, the fluke, the sea trout, albacore tuna, Spanish mackerel, tarpon, and many others.
Is one of the biggest considerations for surf fishing is to make sure that you are not doing it in a dangerous place. Surf fishing should be done carefully wherever you do it. Much of the surf fishing that is done is done white-water surf conditions and if there are waves which are strong enough to carry you out or undertows which can come back and really throw you for a loop then you should be wary of all of these. One of the biggest and easiest ways to save yourself a lot of trouble is to make sure that you are doing the fishing in a low tide conditions so that you don't fall victim to any potential rough waters and that you will be able to notice when the tides get too high for you and you should get out.
